we now have the specs of Nokia’s latest mobile, the N800. The phone sports a 4.1-inch, 800x480 pixel touch screen, a 320MHz processor, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of Flash ROM, dual SD memory card slots, 802.11b/g WiFi, a built-in camera (they don’t specify resolution), and Bluetooth 2.0. It looks like a great phone which offers some unique features over other similar “large display” phones on the market. It’ll be interesting to see how well sales go for Nokia.

Nokia unveils latest mobile Nseries

Samsung’s latest mobile phone, the SGH-X830


When closed, the phone measures just 3.3″ (h) x 1.18″ (w) x .78″(d), and weight just 75 grams (about 2.65 ounces). The SGH-X830 features a 1.3 megapixel digital camera and media playback in MP3, AAC, WMA and MP4 formats. The phone also features Bluetooth connectivity for wireless headsets. 1GB of on board memory is provided for storage of media files and photos. In addition to the black and pink models shown, Samsung says they’ll be offering 4 other colors including blue, white, orange and “lemon green,” whatever that means.
The SGH-X830 should hit Europe by the end of the month, and other GSM markets some time shortly after.

ImCoSys Linux Smartphone


With Linux penetrating the marketplace so pervasively, it comes as no surprise that even the ubiquitous mobile phone now runs a variation of the popular OS. The latest mobile device to run Linux is this smartphone from ImCoSys, a small Swiss company that started up in 2005.
Sporting features like quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900), Bluetooth 1.2, EDGE, Wi-Fi (802.11b), and GPS, the phone has the necessary equipment to be competitive in the marketplace. A 200MHz TI OMAP 730 processor provides the necessary computational power, with 64MB ROM/64MB RAM for memory and a QVGA touchscreen LCD to handle input duties. An oddball feature that’s included is RS-232, which certainly seems strange in these days of USB dominance

The DH02 features a click, drag and scroll icon-based menus. With support for HSDPA/GPRS support, operators can deliver rich services to their customers.
The phone supports DVB-H TV with PVR capabilities, including live pause and frame grabbing, as well as GPS and Tele Atlas map views. The hi-res WQVGA display lets you enjoy video at 25 frames-per-second. The DH02 supports microSD memory cards for storing user-generated content.
